Redox-mediated influence on plastidial metabolism and photosynthesis

Previously, we have adopted pharmacological and genome wide association approaches to address how the plant regulates cellular ascorbate levels in response to acclimation to changes in light intensity. In the upcoming funding period we aim to form our attention on following aspects, a) Investigation of the role of redox-active metabolites (ascorbate, NAD+/NADH, thiamine) in light and cold acclimation, b) Identification of components of ascorbate sensing and signalling leading to photosynthesis enhancement, and c) Investigation of ascorbate dynamics be-tween subcellular compartments under cold and light acclimation.
