Role of thioredoxins and regulation of starch metabolism in acclimation to light and temperature

In this project we will investigate the role of the chloroplast thiol-redox system and downstream stromal metabo-lism in dynamic acclimation to changing light intensities and low temperatures down to freezing conditions. In our previous work we found that chloroplast NTRC and starch metabolism are both crucial mediators for cold acclima-tion and freezing tolerance, while NTRC and thioredoxins m1 and m2 were found to be indispensable for acclima-tion in fluctuating light intensities. We now want to analyse the mechanisms underlying these responses in Ara-bidopsis plants in detail
